Mirzapur 2 is definitely most awaited hindi web series of 2020. As the series has been released on amazon prime video, now here is my review for the same.
Mirzapur season 2 story follows its prequel ( Mirzapur season 1 ). After killing Bablu pandit ( Vikrant Messy ) and sweety ( Shriya pilgaonkar ), Munna Bhaiya ( Divyendu Sharma ) has won the heart of his fathers Akhandanand tripathi ( Pankaj tripathi ).
Now Pankaj tripathi is starting his political career but then they got to know that Guddu pandit is back to take revenge.
After that story introduces some more new characters as well.
Now i won't reveal full story to avoid spoilers but i must say it's a well written sequel.
Mirzapur season 2 mostly highlights the characters of guddu pandit, munna bhaiya and kaleen bhaiya aka akhandanand tripathi but there is enough screen time for other characters like golu gupta, sharad, satyanand tripathi and whole the star cast.
All the actors played their respective characters with full dedication.
Pankaj tripathi, Divyendu Sharma, Ali Fazal, Sweta Tripathi, Vijay Verma, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Rasika Duggal, Amit Siyal, Rajesh Tailang, Sheena Chaddha and all the supporting actors delivered a fantastic performance.
DIRECTION, SCREENPLAY AND BGM
I must say that Mirzapur 2 is well executed in terms of direction. Karan Anshuman and Gurmeet Singh tried to give their best but due to its slow screenplay, Mirzapur 2 doesn't impress us like season 1.
Background music is good and it matches the level of season 1.
Screenplay seems a bit slower. The length of episodes could be reduced. Due to lengthy episodes screenplay is not up to the expectations.
Mirzapur season 2 is good enough to entertain you but it's not as great as Mirzapur season 1 was. Makers tried their best to match the level of its prequel but at the some places things didn't work.
RATING : 7/10
You can watch it for the performance of your favourite stars, it won't disappoint you.
